Webcast Troubleshooting

Speak to an Options Professional!

Are you using Internet Explorer?

Our webcasts work using Internet Explorer on Windows. If you are using a different web browser like Firefox or Netscape, we ask that you please switch to Internet Explorer to view the webcasts. We do not support Macintosh Browsers at this time.

Are pop-up blockers turned off?

It is very important that pop-up blockers be turned off. Internet Explorer has its own popup blocker, however some 3rd party toolbars also include pop-up blockers such as Yahoo Toolbar, Google Toolbar, McAfee Security, Norton Security, and a number of personal firewall applications. Please read how to turn off pop-up blockers.

Do you have the latest version of Windows Media Player?

Viewing the webcast requires Windows Media Player. It may help to download the newest version of Windows Media Player, version 10, available here for free:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/download/default.aspx

Downloading this free software only takes a few moments, and solves many connectivity issues.

Is your computer sitting behind a firewall?

If you are trying to access the webcast from your office, many companies use firewalls to block certain types of content. Please contact your PC/Network Administrator to see if a firewall is preventing the webcast from playing on your computer.

Screen Resolution Issues

It is possible that if your screen resolution is set to 800x600 you will be unable to register or view some of our webcasts. To check and change the resolution, please follow these steps:

Go to Start > Control Panel
Double-Click the "Display" icon
Click the "Settings" tab
Drag the slider for "Screen Resolution" slightly to the right so that the resolution reads 1024x768.
Click "Apply". The same steps can be followed to return your monitor to your preferred resolution.
Close all windows in Internet Explorer. When you return to the OptionsEducation.org web site, you should be able to register for the webcast.

Printing Issues

To print from our Windows Media Player webcasts you must first log-in to the webcast and a link in the lower right hand corner of the webcast window reading Print Today's Presentation Here will appear. Clicking on this link will allow you to download or print the webcast in PDF format. We do not allow a printing capability in our Flash webcasts at this time.
